We have outstanding Volunteers and Teachers and PLMS.
Golden Acorn
Each year, Pine Lake Middle School PTSA honors outstanding volunteer service for advocacy for children by awarding the Outstanding Advocate Award annually. This award is above all, a PTA award whose winners volunteer in ways that meet the mission of PTA: promoting the health, welfare, safety and education of ALL children and youth in the home, school, community and place of worship.

Outstanding Educator
The Outstanding Educator Award was created by PTA to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for children and youth that are beyond the normal scope of their jobs. An educator can be, but is not limited to, teachers, specialist, support staff, administrators, classified staff or community members.

Brian Deagle from VIS presented information about the three levies on the February 2010 ballot
A motion was passed for the PLMS PTSA to endorse the levies
Curriculum Grants were announced
We are looking for a Transition Liaison (see November Newsletter for details)
Roy and Michelle gave school updates and shared information about a book the staff is reading called "Boys Adrift"
The budget was reviewed
We are continuing to sell Totes, but will stop post-holidays
Newsletter submissions are due by Monday 11/29/09
The website continues to be tweeked
Minutes were reviewed and accepted
We are starting to look for a Nominating Committee (to be voted in at January meeting)
